Product Description

524 grams front / 680 grams rear (20/24 spoke count)

If you are looking for an extremely light wheelset that still has good aerodynamic properties, the 38mm tubulars are hard to beat.Tipping the scales right at 1200 grams it's hard to find a wheelset that will compare in terms of strength, aerodynamics, and weight. In hilly races this is actually an ideal wheelset as when you're not climbing, you'll still be saving energy from having a slightly deeper wheel. The 38mm tubulars are also a very popular option for cyclocross racing due to the low weight and high strength.

With all Boyd cycling carbon wheels, Sapim CX Ray spokes are standard, and the wheels come with 20 spokes on the front and 24 spokes on the rear.
As with all carbon rims, the use of carbon specific brake pads is very highly recommended. Use of non-carbon brake pads can damage the rims and will void the warranty. Swisstop brake pads are available for purchase with this wheelset for a reduced price with no added cost for
shipping.

* About weight limits. Weight limit really depends on the type of riding you are doing as well as the terrain. A rider in Florida is going to have different stresses on a wheel than somebody using the wheels in the mountains of California. We put these numbers out as guidelines, they are not strict limits. Depending on your riding style the weight limit may be different than what we have listed.  If you have any questions about weight limit please feel free to contact us.

  1. Climbing Dream!

Posted by Neil on 8th Nov 2011

After wallowing in the small mounds of Columbia, SC finally took these up to the mountains of WNC! Rode up to Mount Mitchell and back they are awesome! Everything I hoped for! Match my Cervelo S1 perfectly. Anyone who tells you clinchers ride as nice a tubulars hasn't ridden tubulars give them a try, they aren't as bad as you think they are! Anyway these babies are stiff and corner like they are on a rail! Boyd and Nicole met me and were very helpful, you can't get customer service like that just anywhere!
