Loading... Please wait...The all around wheelset. If you only have one wheelset for all your races or rides, the 50mm is the way to go. Light enough to still be an advantage on the climbs, and aero enough to use during flat road races or criteriums. Because of it's mid-range depth, the 50mm can even be used in strong crosswinds. The 50mm depth also adds great strength which is why this was out most popular cyclocross wheelset.
With all Boyd Cycling carbon wheels, Sapim CX Ray spokes are standard, and the wheels come with 20 spokes on the front and 24 spokes on the rear.
As with all carbon rims, the use of carbon specific brake pads is very highly recommended. Use of non-carbon brake pads can damage the rims and will void the warranty. Swisstop brake pads are available for purchase with this wheelset for a reduced price with no added cost for
shipping.

* About weight limits. Weight limit really depends on the type of riding you are doing as well as the terrain. A rider in Florida is going to have different stresses on a wheel than somebody using the wheels in the mountains of California. We put these numbers out as guidelines, they are not strict limits. Depending on your riding style the weight limit may be different than what we have listed. If you have any questions about weight limit please feel free to contact us.

Just finished my first ride. They brought the weight of my S-WORKS down to 14 lbs geared out minus water. Solo ride with winds up to 15 mph. Was able to pull on the flats at 35 mph and on a long 2% grade at 30 mph! These wheels are light, stiff and remarkabley aero. The "ghosted" decals under the clearcoat make theses wheels look cooler than any other wheel i have seen. My S-WORKS is carbon colored and with the ghosted decals they look like they were custom made for my bike. I am definitly glad everyone on the race team told me to forget Zipps and go BOYD!!!!

I love these wheels. I can use them for every race, they're very aero, but not too aero too to where you cant use them in crosswind situations, they are also very light to the point that I'm able to use them in climbing races and know that I am getting an advantage. Only time I couldn't use them was at a road race where there were 30mph crosswinds, and that's because I'm not the biggest. They are also very stiff. My teammate rides 2011 zipp 404s and whenever he stands out of the saddle his wheels flex and you can hear them rubbing the brake pads. That doesn't happen on my wheels! They're super smooth and I've hit loads of potholes and even slammed into some curbs, and they're still beautifully true. I highly recommend these.

I used these for crits, road races, and time trials. Outstanding performance and quality that has never let me down!
