Shimano and Sram 11 speed is here and many of you are upgrading. If you have the 2013 or 2014 model wheels from Boyd cycling with the redesigned hub in 10 speed, and want to upgrade to 11 speed, this is what you need. This conversion kit is also what you need to swap between Shimano/Sram and Campy, or vice versa.
This is our 2013 and 2014 model year hub. If your hub does not look like this, the conversion kit will NOT work.
In order to optimize flange spacing for our hub configuration, we have different conversions for 10 or 11 speed. If you originally had a 10 speed to upgrade to 11 speed you will need this conversion kit. It consists of a freehub body, new axle, and end caps. After installing the conversion kit you WILL need to perform a very slight redish of the rear wheel afterwards. There are two options for the installation and redish.
You can install the conversion kit and redish the wheel yourself (or preferably through a local bike shop). We will ship you the conversion kit with everything you need to upgrade your 10 speed wheel to 11 speed.
We can perform the installation and redish for you at no charge. You will have to send your wheel to us (we will provide you with an RA number and instructions for sending in the wheel). There will be a $15 return shipping charge for wheels in the domestic USA. For International orders, it's going to be much more convenient to have the installation performed at a local bike shop.
For Rouleur wheels and any carbon wheel from 2012 or earlier (38mm, 50mm, 58mm, 85mm) you will simply need an 11 speed freehub body found here.
Thank you to Josh Whitmore of the Globalbike Elite cycling team for shooting a video on how to perform the 11 speed conversion. Please note, if you have a wheel dishing tool that is the preferred method for ensuring your wheel is properly redished after converting to 11 speed.

One of the factors that helped me decide on my Boyd Altamonts in the first place was the promised ease of upgrade to 11 speed or switch to campagnolo. I can now say that the reality of the switch is as easy as promised. Took me 5 mins to swap out the axle and free hub body, and then I had my LBS do the re-dish and now I'm running campy 11. Could not have been easier.

In a nutshell, this $100 kit will save you from having to reinvest in a new wheelset if you are upgrading to an 11-speed drivetrain. The wheels feel, spin and sound the same after the conversion.
Installation of the hub is very simple following the instructional video on this page. Having never worked on a hub before, I was a bit nervous, but the video was very intuitive and it took only 10 minutes. Just take note of the tension on the locking and endcap when removing the old hub and match when reinstalling the new hub. I had my LBS do the redish since I don't have the tools for that.

Great product, had my local shop do the install, it took them less than an hour and I've had no troubles since!
All prices are in USD.
