What cyclists are saying.

"I'm stoked that Boyd Cycling has produced this wheelset because not everyone has the coin to spend on carbon wheelsets."

- Gravel Cyclist

"I’ve been riding the CCC now for 4 years, and they are a great set of wheels! ... This wheel set is built to last, and [Boyd] stands firmly behind their product with both a great warranty and replacement program.”

- Nathan Van Hoeven

Is this wheel right for you?

BEST FOR

Cyclists who explore remote gravel, forest roads, and old, unmaintained roadbeds

Bikepacking and long adventure days where a wheel failure is not an option

Running high-volume tires (30mm to 50mm) at low pressure

Cyclists upgrading from stock gravel wheels to a stronger, handbuilt set

A dependable second wheelset, so the carbon gravel wheels stay fresh for race day

NOT IDEAL FOR

Cyclists who want the lightest gravel wheel for climbing (see Jocassee Carbon Gravel SL)

Gravel racers who want an aero advantage (see Pinnacle Race)

Road and all-road riding on narrower tires (see Altamont Alloy Disc)

Gravel that regularly looks like mountain biking, on tires wider than 50mm (see Reiver)

BEHIND THE NAME: CCC

The CCC, a name ingrained in history as the wooded roads it represents, borrows its moniker from the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The CCC was a voluntary public unemployment program designed to provide jobs for young men and to help families who faced challenges finding jobs during the Great Depression. In the mountains of South Carolina there are remnants of “Old CCC” roads deep in the woods that have become favorite exploration destinations for Boyd Johnson, founder of Boyd Cycling.
